The formula
| Input | What it means |
|---|---|
| Calls missed per day | After hours and when the desk is busy |
| Share that would have booked | Of those callers, how many would have become an appointment |
| Average first-visit value | What a new patient's first visit is worth to you |
| × 22.5 | Working days in a month |
One worked example (example values, not a prediction)
These are the same example values the calculator on our home page starts with. Change them to yours.
- Calls missed per day: 3 (example)
- Share that would have booked: 25% (example)
- Average first-visit value: $400 (example)
3 × 25% × $400 × 22.5 = $6,750 a month lost to voicemail, or $81,000 a year.
This is math, not a prediction. Your number could be higher or lower.
lost to voicemail every month · $81,000 a year
Where the missed calls come from
A patient's day doesn't end at 5. The calls nobody answers cluster where the desk is away: lunch, 5 to 8 PM, Saturday morning.
What one missed call looks like
9:12 PM. A new patient with a knocked-out tooth calls. Voicemail. They hang up, search for an emergency dentist and book somewhere else, and so does the family. At 8:05 AM your team sees one missed call: no name, no number.
How to stop the leak
Ushera answers the calls your front desk can't, after hours, on hold and on weekends. It follows your emergency script and leaves your team a list to call back in the morning. Your number doesn't change. How it works: one forwarding rule sends Ushera the calls you choose, and an AI voice answers, says it's the practice's AI assistant, and only says what your dentist approved.
At the calculator's example values, the founding plan ($997/mo) pays for itself with 3 booked patients a month.
